Visa for study in Italy
Students outside the European Community must apply for a visa from an Italian Consular Office . The documents required for this application vary according the length of stay in Italy and are:
For stays of 3 months or less only a tourist visa is required.
For stays from 3 months to 12 months a study visa is required and the following documents must be presented:
- Valid passport.
- Certificate of enrolment from Centro Machiavelli and a letter confirming the reservation of the accommodation for the entire duration of the stay.
- Declaration of adequate financial means for self-sufficiency during the study period in Italy authorized and signed by a notary.
- Two copies of a bank letter containing the student's bank account numbers or those of their parents
which attest to the financial situation. - International health insurance.
For stays of more than 12 months, as well as the documents above, students must request a certificate of enrolment from Centro Machiavelli for a course of multiple years in order to obtain a study visa of 365 days which is then renewable in Italy in the event of an extension of the course.
Students with a study visa must request the visitors permit within 8 days of their arrival.
